About this project

Good care technology doesn't always need to be another large system. This project creates focused, free resources designed to make everyday management tasks clearer and easier — starting with the Regulation 45 quality-of-care review.

Why this exists

The information a Regulation 45 review needs may already exist — in Regulation 44 reports, incident records, safeguarding themes, complaints, children's feedback, staff feedback and more. The hard part is bringing it together, making sense of it, and turning it into findings and actions. This toolkit is built around that process, not around collecting more data.

What it is — and isn't

It's a structured Excel workbook and a small set of companion resources, distributed through this website. It is not a regulatory authority, not compliance software, and not a replacement for professional judgement. It doesn't score, grade or predict anything — it helps a manager organise their own review.

Who it's for

Registered managers, deputy managers, care and support staff, responsible individuals, and quality or compliance staff working in Ofsted-registered children's homes in England.
